Inter-collegiate chess competitions were organized at GNC. dated 20-01-2026

The National College, Sirsa, hosted inter-college chess competitions under the aegis of the Chaudhary Devi Lal University Sports Association. According to the college's Public Relations Officer, Professor Ramesh Soni, seven teams of male and female players from various colleges in Sirsa district participated in the competition. The competitions were inaugurated with an inspiring address by Principal Professor Harjinder Singh. In his address, the Principal stated that the objective of these competitions was to promote intellectual abilities, strategic thinking, and sportsmanship among the students. Dr. Bablesh Jhorad, along with Paramjit Kaur, Dr. Dinesh, Dr. Raj, and Dr. Savita, made significant contributions to the successful conduct of the competitions under his expert guidance. The event was compered by Sachin. The judging panel comprised retired Professor Dr. Baldev Singh, along with Anil and Vinod. In the inter-college chess competitions, UTD, CDLU, Sirsa, Chaudhary Devi Lal Engineering College, Panniwal Mota, and Government National College, Sirsa, secured the first, second, and third positions respectively. Vice-Principal Dr. Anita Madiya and Registrar Dr. Jeetram Sharma were also present on the occasion. Principal Professor Harjinder Singh congratulated all the winners.
